What is the value of team building? - Sailing can offer vital lessons in leadership and teamwork.
— Not finance, not strategy, not technology. It is teamwork that remains the ultimate competitive advantage, both because it is so powerful and so rare. – Patrick Lencioni
Baseball, football camps, canoe trips, white-water rafting, rock climbing; been there done that, try something of value, new, fun, different, as different as your team needs to be, consider Shardana Sailing Charters – Corporate Training and team Building Programs. With up to 3 sailboats (additional sailboats available as needed) at our disposal we can develop a team-building program for corporate needs of nearly any size, for 6 to 18 team members.
We offer single day, weekend and week-long team building programs that increase self-awareness, improve communication, teach employees how to have productive conflict, increase accountability resulting in a commitment to overall team results (rather than individual agendas!).
Shardana Sailing is pleased to introduce its partnership with Loeb Leadership, a global leadership development firm and a certified woman owned business to offer an innovative experiential learning team building program to help team members better understand, internalize and apply the critical five behaviors of a cohesive team.
Today’s organizations are working beyond a single team. Advances in technology are disrupting the market, globalization is forcing a new approach of working, and the teams of the future have never seen this level of diversity. In essence, organizations need to equip their employee to create highly functioning cohesive teams quickly to enable results.
Sail with Shardana and Offer Your Team a Unique Team Building Event on the Water.
Prior to your customized teambuilding event on the beautiful 43-foot Shardana sailboat led by Captain Andrew Seligman and his team (https://www.shardanasailing.com/crew), each of your team members and the team leader complete a personalized on line team-player assessment. The results of each team members personal assessment will be provided to the participant during the team building event, identifying to what extent the participant demonstrates the five critical behaviors to be part of a cohesive team. Upon completion of the day, a leadership coach (download PDF of the Team Compass outline) from Loeb Leadership will debrief the group’s assessment results with them share observations of the effective team behaviors observed during the sailing throughout the day and guide the team to building a Team Compass, crystalizing the ground rules for how this team will work together effectively moving forward.
Our corporate team building program is focused around the highly acclaimed “Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team (https://www.fivebehaviors.com/loebconsultinggroup) incorporated along with the experience of sailing; and can be customized especially for your organization.
To support multi-day events, we have an expanded partnership with Osprey Point Inn, Restaurant and Marina in Rock Hall, Maryland.
Casey Carroll, General Manager at Osprey Point Inn, Restaurant and Marina states: “We see this partnership as the future of interaction between Shardana Sailing Charters and our corporate guests. What a great way to build your team by ‘working’ a sailboat, running through standard exercises, tacking, gybing and other challenging manouvres. After a day on the water you can reward your team with a stay at our inn, dinner in our classic dining room, or by spending some time enjoying our amenities.”
Highly functional corporate teams run and win good races in business on and off the water. Our staff of registered coaches and trainers can develop a customized program for your team. We offer single day, multiple day and overnight sessions. For additional information, contact us below.
