Title: Favorite Sailing Destinations on the Chesapeake Bay
Osprey Point Inn and Marina along with Shardana Sailing Charters welcomes and invites you to the third of our FREE winter learning lectures, the topic of our third FREE lecture is Favorite Sailing Destinations on the Chesapeake Bay.
Session Three— We’ve talked about the water and life in the Bay, but what if you want to get out of the water along the 11,684 miles of shoreline? Shore-side communities range from as large as Baltimore and Norfolk to Smith Island with a population of 276 souls. There are innumerable “gunk-holes” dotting the Bay, with few signs of humans and any number of crab houses where you can step off your boat right to the table. With that much variety, it can be hard to decide where to go when virtually anywhere you point your bow will take you someplace interesting, and everyone passionately advocates for their favorite places.
Davis Jones, owner/captain of Shardana Sailing Charters, will start the discussion by presenting his favorite places to visit around the Bay. With so many options, everyone has their favorites, so he will open the floor for your recommendations, too. We’ll discuss why to go where, what to do, and how to get there, all from a sailor’s perspective, and how to add these locations to your story. Then, be prepared to vouch for your favorites before we vote the winning destinations to include in your next dream vacation on the Chesapeake Bay, sailing on Shardana.
Join our email list to be notified of the many locations, gunkholes, ice cream shops that Shardana will visit this season!
